Here’s what happened today in GE news:
- Tomorrow is Cooling-off Day (9 July). Campaigning by parties, candidates, and supporters, with some exceptions, is not allowed on Cooling-off Day. Individuals are still allowed to share political views with another individual, as long as it is on a non-commercial basis.
- RDU releases Green Charter, includes call to penalise goods that depend on single-use plastic.
- PAP’s Chan Chun Sing addresses audio clips circulating online in which Chan says “a crisis will save us”, in reference to the PAP’s vote share. Chan claims the clips were “taken out of context, are being circulated with ill-intent”.
- ELD advises voters to walk to their polling stations if possible. Voters will undergo temperature screenings before being let into the polling centre.
